Ballinger War Memorial Hall Centenary Celebration 1924-2024
Film Night #2, Friday September 20 SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN
The Centenary Celebration continues with our second Film Night featuring a famous movie with a 1920’s setting.
The film, selected in a poll amongst participants in our first Film Night in March, is “Singin in the Rain” featuring Gene Kelley, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds.
Set during the 1920’s transition from silent films to talkies, it is often regarded as the greatest film musical ever made.
Sight and Sound Magazine ranks it as the tenth greatest film of all time and Kelly’s iconic rendition of the title song is on just about everyone’s list of favourite film scenes.
Doors open at 7 pm for a 7:45 curtain and it’s bring your own food and drink for a sociable time with neighbours before and after the film.
Admission is £5 and capacity is limited
